It wouldn't be smart for MM's to let this dip too much because investors will scare away, the volume will drop, and all the commissions and profits these MM's and brokers make will be gone. It would make zero sense to let this just keep plummeting down. Yeah they can make some money shorting, but then it's all over as investor sentiment will been crushed.

It's in everyone's best interest to let this run up again. JMO.
