MacBook Pro 2017 to Come with AMD Ryzen Processor?
By Karandeep Singh - March 6, 2017

It seems like AMD will be taking over the world with their Ryen processors. If the latest reports are to be believed, Apple might be considering AMD Ryzen processors for their MacBook Pro series for 2017 that is due to be released later this year. Apple being a tech titan will certainly boost AMD’s position in the market as a processor maker.

Apple tried hard to be more creative with last year’s MacBook Pro but many still weren’t happy with the Touch Bar being the ‘only’ innovation. Lack of certain ports left many frustrated for having to attach several adapters. This year Apple wants to iron out all the flaws that the users pointed out and would come out with a machine that is better and more creative than the current series.

Tim Cook, during a session at Apple annual shareholder meeting, mentioned that creative area is very important and the company will ‘do more in the pro area’, hinting towards the MacBook Pro 2017. KGI security analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed that MacBook Pro will see a major revamp this year.

The revamp also means in terms of the specifications of the high-end laptop. Many professional and power users have complained about the low RAM capacity of the MacBook Pro series and the company may come with an option of 32GB RAM with this year’s model. Having said that, MacBook Pro 2016 wasn’t much faster than its predecessor since Apple wanted to conserve battery life while maintaining the performance level.

Architosh suggests that instead of producing its own or using Intel’s chips to look for ultimate performance per watt, Apple could use AMD’s Ryzen CPUs which already promise to do so. The AMD Ryzen processors for mobile devices are also expected to come in second half of 2017, making it a great timing and choice for Apple MacBook Pro 2
