No, you are right. ARIOQ's old common shares have been cancelled.
The trading ticker and the stock are not the same thing. I just shake my head at the argument that if the ticker is still active, the stock cannot possibly have been cancelled. That is not factual. They are two different things, and are regulated differently.
Just because FINRA has not been provided with the paperwork that the shares have been cancelled doesn't mean it didn't happen. It did - the old common shares are no more. The "trading" in the ticker is just air. There are no actual shares underlying the trading. People are just passing nothing of value back and forth.
