I think this has been an SEC rule for some time, but Ameritrade only started enforcing it around the first of June.
I got cought with my pants down one time and had to wait five days before funds from a sale were settled. I think this may be their way of protecting themselves from getting caught short. I never changed my account to a margin account. I'm just a little more careful now. gene
