Spicer's comments were said in very general terms. He "thinks" there will be a crackdown. They are uncertain what to do. This is no surprise.

I believe they are "feeling out" this issue currently. Once they feel the public backlash, they will back off.

Trump is ON RECORD in 2015 stating this is a states rights issue.

In 2012, The Obama Administration tried to crackdown on state rights for marijuana but FAILED. This was followed by the largest MJ stock BOOM in 2014.

It would be political suicide if Trump Administration is successful in a crackdown. 60% US citizens favors MJ. They could lose the 2020 election on this issue alone. Would be the MAIN talking point for Democrats.

The President can override Attorney General decisions.

I'm not worried.
