Petromark Joins VP Racing Fuel Retail Branding Program
Distributor aims to help independent sites compete in changing marketplace

HARRISON, Ark. -- Petromark Inc. has signed on for VP Racing Fuels Inc.'s national branding program.

“Our consideration of the VP brand focused on VP’s image, very favorable credit-card processing program and incremental revenue from other VP-branded products,” said Steve Turner, co-owner of Petromark. “We’re excited about the opportunity to pioneer the new VP Racing Fuels brand to the market and providing our independent sites resources to compete in the changing marketplace. Our success will be a result of the commitment of both companies.”

Supporting more than 218 retail and wholesale sites in its operating area, Petromark creates an opportunity for expansion of VP’s brand in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee.

“We’re very pleased to add Petromark to the growing roster of Team VP,” said Alan Cerwick, president of VP Racing Fuels. “As a long-time board member and former chairman of PMAA, Steve Turner commands substantial respect in the industry and getting his buy-in makes quite a statement about the viability and potential of our retail branding program.”

Based in Harrison, Arkansas, and founded as Lair Oil in 1929, the company’s name was changed to Petromark Inc. in 1988. The business, operated by co-owners Stephen Lair and Steve Turner, today consists of 28 (could be 38 or so by now based on some other info I found) retail sites in Northwest/North Central Arkansas and the Branson, Mo., area, in addition to more than 190 wholesale sites. Shell, Conoco, Phillips and Valero are the major flags, and one third of Petromark’s volume is unbranded.

VP Racing Fuels is a leader in racing fuel technology, fueling champions in virtually every form of motorsports on land, sea and air since 1975. VP is the official racing fuel of NHRA Championship Drag Racing, American Le Mans, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Model Series and Rally America, among more than 60 VP-sponsored series and sanctioning bodies.

Among Zens first clients is a Texas-based company that owns and manages a real-estate portfolio encompassing retail, mixed-use, multi-family, grocery chains and healthcare related assets. Petromark, one of its divisions, recently contracted over 150 (and counting) convenient store/gas stations to take full advantage of Zens Zero-Cost Program. Zen is nearing completion on all site surveys and will soon be in the analytical phase of the sales process, which will be followed by underwriting and installation.

Military leads will need to wait awhile so we can get this tiger digested well enough to move up!!!
