Let's review this again.

I've stated many times: record date matters only for regular cash dividends, in which case, for a record date of 06/10 would mean that you would need to own shares before the ex-dividend date, which would be the close of 06/07. Okay, so if your dividend was a regular cash dividend, you would not be entitled to the dividend.

However, you state that the dividend was a share dividend for a spin-off. Okay, so if that's true, you simply needed to own shares on the payment date.

So, what day, exactly, was the stock dividend actually issued to shareholders? Because I guarantee you no longer held the stock at that point. In your post it said the dividend payment date was 01/27/16. I'm willing to guess that was an error, but if that was the correct date, you simply had to own shares at close of 01/27/2016.

Understand yet? I literally doesn't get any easier, you're embarrassing yourself.
