If they are convertible shares the noteholders got them at least with a 50% discount to the lowest trading price when issued. So to sell now and make a at least 50% is an easy decision to make. If it is the company they paid nothing for the shares. They just increased the OS and gave themselves the shares. They get 100% of anything they sell. As for the current price they are selling at they must need the money bad so they will take what the market will give them today.
