That is a fascinating question. There may be a few schools of thought on that topic.

Because the federal laws still do not validate cannabis as medicine, and also due to any remaining stigma that still surrounds the substance even in its medicinal form, the company may want to create a subsidiary that would focus strictly on cannabis (essentially like a dispensary), to avoid any negative impact to the sales of their non-cannabis product line. Or they could somehow incorporate the MMJ products into their current lineup and make it a blended pharmaceutical experience.

Obviously if they opted for the separatist plan, then they might go with the subsidiary model. We might be getting ahead of ourselves with all this anyway, but it is interesting to theorize about given the potential market expansion should they actually be considering this angle.
