JR, the South really is a more genteel place where people move slower and more politely in general. Racist stereotypes are played up way too much and always have been by carpetbagging Yankees. The South, believe it or not, is still recovering from the destruction of the Civil War and its Capitol, Richmond, is closer to Reconstruction than a modern city.
