Seems like J&J already has all the IP that they need:

Johnson & Johnson is also making headway in this field (Figure 1). “In a newly created area, smart device technology, which combines contact lenses with sensors and microprocessors, we have already created a very strong portfolio: 82 US-issued patents and over 130 US pending applications,” stated Peter Shen, PhD, worldwide vice president of Research and Design for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care at its May 18, 2016, investor meeting.
