If you read that legal filing carefully, you'll see that in 2009, Basu had filed for bankruptcy, and Grewal was trying to make the case that: 1) Basu owed him $750K plus $3M in damages, and 2) that these debts couldn't be discharged as part of the bankruptcy. IOW, Grewal wanted the judge to rule that despite the bankruptcy, Basu might still owe him a maximum of $3.75M.

Simply put, the court didn't agree.

I don't see why this is important nearly 8 years later.

PPJE is still screwed up, and none of the businesses (marijuana testing, medical billing, marijuana edibles, or bill collecting) seem to be viable.
