Lots of people who are smart are handicapped by ego.

Perhaps attending an Ivy is indicative of personal deficits?

Graduating summa cum laude can be an indication that you are good at ivory tower theory, but says very little about real world practice.

I had a civil engineer roommate who was very smart. His classmates acknowledged he "just outperformed them."

However, he was a horse's ass, and specifically disivnited from parties.

Was the lone CE student I knew who failed to secure a job upon graduation.

And, I'm not sure, but I don't think he was as smart as me. Not that it matters, but he placed himself on some pedestal. While being 100% blind to how emotionally retarded he was.

While he may have had some competence in the engineering realm, at the undergraduate level, he certainly would have been at a loss in leadership roles. Human relations, etc. Marketing or communications.

Lampert used to be lauded as "the next Warren Buffett." It's been awhile.

I believe once ESL has secured all the assets in SHLD through their senior secured loans, the taps will be cut off.

The behavior exhibited by One West was nothing short of venal narcissism, followed by self serving denials and alternative facts from Mnuchin. It's almost like it never happened. Mnuchin says he "didn't run a foreclosure machine." See, he's really not such a bad guy.

I believe Lampert is smart enough, at least, to recognize he has a failing business model, and take the money and run. He has structured the ESL loans to where he cannot lose.

Everyone else loses. Pensioners, sears home town owners. Not Oz.
