Steve just so you know your efforts here on the Bible Board are not in vain.......a while back you posted a thing concerning if we would recognize or know our family and friends in heaven...that stuck with me and I wanted to look up information on this and just never got the time, yet the subject never left me, well yesterday out of nowhere, I was doing nothing with my Bible or anything like that, so when I say out of nowhere, I mean POOF....my answer....I think yes we will recognize family and friends in heaven....the article you posted said that the Bible offered nothing on this, but, but, but, if I may....at the Transfiguration, Peter, James & John recognized Moses and Elijah, now those were way before Peter's time, but they recognized them...then there is the story Jesus told about the Rich man and the beggar/Lazarus....some will call this a parable, but this is the only story Jesus told using a name of a person, so many believe this not to be a parable but fact.....anyway, Jesus taught that rich man after he died went to Hades and the beggar/Lazarus went to the bosom of Abraham----the rich man looked up and saw Lazarus (recognized Lazarus) in the bosom of Abraham....also the rich man knew who Abraham was.....
OK---don't know if that made any since to anyone, but those two instances made me believe that we will recognize each other in heaven.....to dig my hole a bit deeper....we will have a new body, so to speak, but we will recognize family and friends in their new body.......I think, don't take my word, study the subject, ask for divine guidance and sit back and watch the Holy Spirit do His thing
