The problem with your thought process is that you are relying solely on the information that they (titan et al) want you to know. Dig deeper and find nuggets that arent PR'd. They are just as real as the info that is made public. Companies absolutely attempt to keep strategies close to the vest and use misdirection as well . The pps is the scoreboard so to speak but there is much more to this game than the score indicates.
