When BMAK is controlling the spread, they're likely initiating a short position.
BMAK sell short the ask, cover on the offer. With a spread as large as what has been showing, BMAK and other MM's will do this.
Go along with it if you're long. If you're a trader, need to stay at or above BMAK on the bid, or slap the ask and stay above BMAK on the bid. This will stop BMAK from shorting. Also, tightening the spread in times of no dilution, makes shorting less attractive.
So far, BMAK isn't abusing too badly, but when you see large spreads, I would suspect BMAK (at least in MJTK) will try to short at the ask, and cover on the bid to take advantage of the spread.
