Most you can make with a short is doubling your money, against open ended risk. Plus profits from shorting are never long term capital gains.
If you'd read my posts I've often mentioned that shorting is bad investing, outside of (illegal) inside info. The odds stink.
Note too that Buffett/Berkshire haven't shorted in many decades. They've publicly discussed shorting a few times. Very few hedge funds short these days.
