I don't see kblb leaving the penny single digits until maybe second half of this year at best and I think more likely not until 2018 or 2019. I base this in part in the way KT has operated so far. He's far too cautious and intent on "getting it right the first time". He's in no rush to launch a product just for the sake of revenue. He wants to lay the groundwork at multiple locations first. Although recent news gives me hope, we still seem to have a loooong way to go.
Vietnam is going to take quite awhile to ramp up to levels sufficient for a landmark deal imho. Still have yet to reach a final agreement with a province. Then from there it will take several months to set up shop and demonstrate they are consistently producing enough quality silk, test it, and demonstrate cost efficiencies to convince a company like nike or whoever to announce a revenue earning deal. I don't think someone like Nike or any other household name is going to launch a product with kblb until kblb can show multiple locations producing dragon silk in high quantities. I don't see us staying above a dime until kraig labs announces a real deal that will represent significant revenue. I mean sure, we may get a jv or partnership announcement this quarter but I think it will only be along the lines of announcing plans to "work together", not an actual product launch.
Army won't get their shoot packs till about May. Then they have to test it thoroughly. Even if the test is successful , it's far from guaranteed that the Army will award phase II. Army could love it but still not award a phase II immediately. Even if they do, it may be another year before it's budgeted and awarded. We may actually NOT get an answer from the army this year. They don't always move fast on these small business initiatives.
With no significant revenues likely this year, why would it break out? I think good news is coming this year, but if it's not significant revenue, it won't amount to much. I'm just keeping a little of the euphoria in check.
