Connie Cohen Gets A Fairy Godmother/Father!
3.15.2006 Cinderella racer Connie Cohen is going to the dance this weekend in Gainesville, FL due to the efforts of a group of supporters who thought she deserved the chance to race. The group, dubbed her “Fairy Godmother/Father” by the efforvecsent Cohen, was led by a group of shareholders of CMKX; the company that sponsored the CC Rider Race Team in 2005.
“I stay in touch with a lot of the shareholders of my former sponsor,” said Cohen. We were chatting online on Saturday evening and when I mentioned that we didn’t have enough money to make the race the wheels began turning. Led by Show Freight Industries, Inc.’s Steve Otwell the donations started coming in. Soon they had collected enough money to get Marc and myself to Gainesville. I was stunned that people who barely know us could be so generous.”
Due to the overwhelming generosity Connie and Marc Cohen will be debuting their G2 Motorsports/S&S Cycle powered Buell at the NHRA/POWERade, AC Delco Gatornationals. “Due to personal reasons and a lack of funding we haven’t had a chance to test the bike, but judging by the performance of all the other teams that are running a similar combination we are heading to Gainesville confident that we can make the program. We are so very thankful for all the help we are receiving and plan on working hard to make our sponsors proud!”
