Anyone live near Harrison, NJ? Curious about what may or may not be going on there. I live in Hawaii so I can't just drive by easily.
PEC is in the process of developing a 2-MW BESS in Harrison, NJ that is connected to the grid to provide frequency regulation for PJM. PEC has agreed on terms to lease the property, and has obtained an approved Wholesale Market Participation Agreement, and subject to zoning approval, hopes to break ground in Q4 of 2016. The BESS will consist of 2 1-MW containerized systems that are going to be installed at the front of the property and connected via a 13.2 kV overhead line at the street, leading back into the grid. We plan to have the system operational in Q1 of 2017.
