What's unfair about a market that's been soaring for 8 years? It's been fantastic to me! Every index is hitting record highs, large caps or small caps. The problem years ago was the average investor didn't know how badly he was lagging. Now with the internet and computers it's easy to benchmark your JC Penney investing performance against the S&P, for example.

Buy and hold investors have always done better than hunch flippers. Made Buffett the world's 2nd richest person. I could see him getting involved with JCP in some very limited fashion, but he rarely invests in retailers. He has bought Walmart.
