Here's a monthly chart starting at the beginning of 2016. Looking at the volume bars at the bottom IMO there has been an over all uptrend starting in Aug 2016 continuing to now. It's not a perfect uptrend as there is a serious dip in volume between 11/2016 & 12/2016 but over all I think it is an uptrend. This month we already have over half the volume of last month & it's only the 9th.
