In and of itself the r/s does not alter the value of your holdings.
However, many companies will issue more new shares after the reverse split (dilution). A tip off that this may be coming is if the reverse split applies to the outstanding shares but not authorized shares (some do, some don't, I would have to read the prospectus here).

If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
