About 40yrs ago I found an old piece of furniture in a trash pile and took it to my Uncle who refinished furniture etc. He said it would make a great project for me as a first timer. I ended up spending weeks on it instead of hours that I thought should be sufficient. My Uncle the auditor, keep saying no.......when I would show the piece completely sanded and ready for the next step.

That piece of trash is still next to me now as a fine piece of furniture, quarter saw Oak Sect with piegeon holes and at least twenty dowls that needed to be sanded. I love to pull out the drawer and see how the auditor mended it and signed and dated that mend for clarity.

SGBY needs a bit more sanding.......but when its done.......we all will be grateful long term IMHO.
