If PLUG's financials are strong and exceed expectations, then this could be the catalyst that arrests the free-fall.

If PLUG's financials are flat or merely meet expectations, then this will not be enough to reverse the trend, and the share price will continue to decline.

If PLUG's financials are poor or below expectations, then "look out below"... there will be no resistance on how low PLUG shares can go.

So, as a SHORT, I really like my odds, and I generously give the "exceed expectations" scenario a 33% chance of happening, and a 67% chance of PLUG's share price going lower.
