A report that an Iranian helicopter had fired on a Romanian oil rig before troops boarded it added to market nerves.

Romanian oil firm Grup Servicii Petroliere told Reuters in Bucharest a worker on the rig reported the attack early on Tuesday. The firm had heard nothing more from the rig's 26 workers and the reason for the attack was unclear.
