Bolt may be producing a very different product than KBLB...

One of the telling statements in this report is a brief mention:

... stretchier than spandex ...



Neither DS nor MS are anywhere close to being as stretchy as spandex. My recollection is that MS had a stretch/strain curve that indicated fiber failure at about a 30% elongation. Spandex can stretch to more than 100% elongation without failing. Furthermore, MS and DS take so much energy to elongate that they feel like they don't stretch at all. Once you get to bullet-impact forces, they stretch. But a person could not produce enough force to stretch the fibers very far.

This suggests that Bolt, DS, and MS will be used for very different applications.

Again, reading tea leaves here. A good stretch/strain curve would answer a thousand questions...
