Law360, Los Angeles (January 20, 2017, 6:26 PM EST) -- Cybersecurity company Finjan Inc. filed suit on Friday against rivals Avast Software and AVG Technologies NV for more than $15.4 million in damages, claiming Avast-owned AVG makes products that infringe on six of its patents, and licensing negotiations with Avast over the inventions have been unsuccessful.
The complaint, for breach of contract and patent infringement, states that prior to Avast’s acquisition of AVG, Finjan had been in active license negotiations for months with AVG over the Finjan patents asserted in the complaint.
