At my own peril I will join the political conversation here for a moment as I strongly agree with SoL. I voted Trump and very excited for his administration and policies but in free trade he has it completely wrong. His policies are liberal, not conservative. Conservatives should believe in global free-trade. As SoL says, this is what brings us better products at lower costs and brings prosperity worldwide. Yes, it does have the side effect of creating a small handful of extraordinarily wealthy people as a few large businesses can sell products to the whole world and it also has the side effect of bringing down average salary of an American worker as we compete with other workers in the global workforce but this is reality and conservatives should accept the side effects of a free market. The alternative government control and Trump bullying companies to stay in america may seem better but in the longer-term we will be screwed with higher cost of living and fewer jobs as our companies won't have the ability to compete overseas. In everything else Trump is extraordinarily correct but in free trade SoL totally has Trumps number.
