Those who support NNVC have consistently said they are waiting for this exact candidate selection moment in order that NNVC can finally begin toxicology studies.

After having been patient to this point why would anyone abandon their position now when the event they've been waiting for has arrived?

It's a seminal moment to have either your long or short position confirmed. I could see those of either position getting cold feet running for he hills, but I think those people are long gone by now. GLTA.
