The cost of drugs through medicare is less than 2% of the budget. sure there are abuses out there, but I don't think this is a salve for any budget woes or healthcare as a whole. there is far more to be gained through curbing other aspects of healthcare spending IMO which receives little attention bc it is not as easy a target
