Quantum Materials Corp. Update (OTCQB: QTMM) - Company Representatives to Meet with OEM Groups/Interested Parties at CES 2017 for Demonstration of the Company's Heavy Metal Free Quantum Dot Film - We will be Attending CES on Friday, January 6th - Full Report to Follow

January 5, 2017

Just want to make sure everyone saw yesterday's announcement by Quantum Materials Corp. wherein they announced the Company will be demonstrating a heavy metal (cadmium) free, QD enhanced film product to interested parties/flat panel display representatives at this years' CES trade show in Las Vegas. This is another major milestone for the Company with their QD materials now embedded into a finished film product (in their most recent release QMC announced that the performance specifications for their cadmium-free quantum dots were at or beyond what is currently available in the market today - link to that PR here: http://www.stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2016/11/30/quantum-materials-corp-shipping-high-performance-sample-sets-secures-up-to-9 ).

The battle for supremacy of the high end flat panel industry is continuing to rage on with Samsung making an even bigger push into QD territory with their ongoing mission to supplant OLED technology with QD powered panels in the mid to upper quality range (see the not so subtle graphic below from this year's Samsung booth at CES aimed directly at LG and their OLED format), with a number of additional OEM groups (NVidia, Hisense and TCL) also pushing the quantum dot format forward fielding new QD powered panels of their own to crank up color gamut brightness in LCD constructed panels.

In the release Stephen Squires, the Company's Founder, and (recently reinstated) CEO/Chairman commented:

“We are excited to present our QD display film to leading display manufacturers at CES seeking to incorporate advanced quantum dot technology into their TV, monitor and mobile device offerings. Our heavy metal-free display film affords display designers the ability to create brighter and more vivid wider color-gamut devices, while fulfilling environmental mandates to restrict the use of heavy metals in consumer and professional electronics.”

With quantum dots now moving into the flat panel mainstream with several OEM's now producing QD driven sets, the push for lower cost quantum dot products (that also perform at a high standard) looks to be a key differentiator going forward to separate the QD manufacturers that will be well positioned to gain meaningful market share as the market moves from a couple of million panels in 2016 to the 10's of millions of panels projected by a number of industry analysts to go the way of the dot by as early as 2018. Reading between the lines of the next quote from the press release by Quantum's Senior Director of Business Development, Toshi Ando, QMC plans to be on that short list of quantum dot suppliers that can produce these nano-materials at price points that will allow them to be highly competitive and gain solid market share in this rapidly advancing technology:

“Due to relatively high cost, implementation of quantum dot display film has been heavily weighted to the high-end display market. We believe Quantum Materials Corp’s low-cost high-volume quantum dot manufacturing approach will enable the enhanced viewing experience made possible with quantum dots to be enjoyed by consumers along a much broader range of price points".

Heading to CES Tomorrow:

We will be at the CES conference tomorrow (Friday) to get a firsthand demonstration of QMC's cadmium free QD film product as well as get eyes on the new crop of quantum dot panels being displayed this year (both the production models as well as the proto-types) and will be putting a comprehensive report together that we will be sending out to everyone once completed to follow up our 2015 and 2016 QD CES reports.
