The other option is Merck just buys GALT outright with a milestone payment if the CX trial is successful. Similar to the TBRA purchase.

Say $500M initially and another $500M if CX is successful. Just speculating on #s, but you get idea and then Merck can accelerate studies/commercialization and other indications. The GALT team can lead the galectin-3 program.
