The below is the update from my Daughter who has been serving God in Mexico.
Few of you on this board has helped support her in the past and I thought it be good for you to see what your seed of support has grown.

Also if you or anyone else here would like to continue to plant those seeds at end of update is a way to do that.

If you would like to share this on your media sites that would be great as well. TY.

UPDATE FROM KATE:
RDSN/School of Missions
TIJUANA, MEXICO

WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU IN TIJUANA? ?In August 2015, I left everything I owned to walk into what God had for me at Rancho De Sus Niños
(RDSN) in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. What was supposed to be me returning to my normal life after a week working with a missions
team from Marysville New Life in June 2015, left me dropping everything I was doing, my finances, and my future into His hands. Two
months from the day that I first left Mexico, I was returning as a missionary and a student through RDSN’s bible college program called La
Misión School of Ministry. It all happened suddenly and without time to prepare...all I know is that when I said YES, doors I never even
imagined were opened, that there was unfathomable provision + that God was faithful through and through. I am in Tijuana because I am
responding to the call that he has over my life to bring the kingdom to earth and to His people in Mexico for the next two years.
WHAT IS RANCHO DE SUS NINOS? ?Rancho De Sus Niños exists out of an act of obedience and a step of faith. In 1986 our founders, Steve and
Cathy Horner, said YES when God asked them to go to Mexico and take care of abused and abandoned children. In 1987, RDSN was built
out of a desire to change a nation one child at a time. Over the next 21 years, the Horners built and founded an orphanage, as well as a
family care program, elementary schools, a Bible college, and 19 churches, all in the Baja region. In 2008, the ministry’s baton was passed to
Steve and Cathy’s oldest son Jimmy and his wife Genea, with the intention that they would take what was begun and run with it even further.
Our fearless leaders, Jimmy + Genea Horner did just that and they are going even farther! Currently on our campus alone, we run an
orphanage that cares for around 60 children, a daycare, an elementary, junior high, highschool, bible college, and a church called La Misión.
Within that runs a variety of different ministries to affect our surrounding communities and outer villages of Tijuana. Our vision is to see
heaven invade earth, to worship our Father, to bring kingdom transformation, and for Mexico; see it released into the destiny for which it is
called + created.
Rancho De Sus Niños/La Misión has recently rebranded as The Mission, Inc. because we have always had a greater purpose in mind - to go
to the nations! Later in 2017, we will be planting our first new base in Sighisoara, Romania. Then Nicaragua and Thailand, with dreams of
going to other countries just beginning. These new sites will be homes to orphanages, community centers, churches, schools, jobs, and full
of dreams and prosperity to see these countries and their people walk into their destinies. I am grateful to be apart of a place + people that
dream so big and fully trust that God will see them through on what he’s promised.
WHAT IS THIS YEAR LOOKING LIKE FOR YOU? ?Right now, I am a student in the School of Ministry which includes a handful of ministries; teaching in
the elementary, running youth groups with about 200 of our junior high/high school students, leading connection groups (mini churches) in
the outer communities, kids ministry, serving wherever needed in the church, garbage + water ministry, hosting groups that come serve,
trailer ministry, translating, and being a house mom in our orphanage houses. Somehow, on top of all of that I manage to get homework
done and volunteer in our coffee shop and sing on our worship team. I am a vocalist in our band called Musica La Misión and you can find
us on Spotify and iTunes (you should definitely ‘like’ our facebook page, too). So I guess you could say, BUSY and exciting!
TESTIMONIES:
1) Georgian + Winnie Banov from Global Celebrations lead us on a mission called Tijuana Love Ambush every year to the garbage dump
in TJ. For my second year now, I got to serve the people who live in the dump; they were considered the unloved, the unnoticed, the
hopeless and basically the outcasts of society. But on that day we worshipped together, laughed, cried, traded stories, sang to, prayed
for, spoke life and love into these people and got to tell them who their creator was and how much Jesus loved them. This year, I found
some men whom we ministered to and Jesus healed them of injuries or sickness the year before, and they were still healed! In
November we did the unimaginable - hosting a wedding for a couple who didn’t have anything and couldn’t even dream of having one,
right in the middle of the dump. The couple exchanged rings that people who stood around gave them and they received a love offering
from the students to start their new life together, and we threw confetti and celebrated with our new friends. Tijuana Love Ambush is
honestly one of the coolest and most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced in my whole life and something that I will never, ever forget.
2) I have been a house mom for 13 girls in one of our orphanage homes. It started out as literally one of the most difficult things I have
ever done in my life and when things were at their worst, I was having a bad attitude and was no fun for the girls - I felt like no matter
what I did or what fun things I prepared for them, they never liked me and I was just another person passing through their house to take
care of them. Honestly I was so tired, wanted to quit or give up, and I wasn’t even the full-time house parent! Then I was spending time
with God one day and he gave me this revelation - “What is your point in doing this? Is it for them to like you - or is it to have them see
me and the Father’s heart through you?” and it totally changed the way I came into and saw that house ever since. My relationships
started being different with the girls - bedtimes, meals, shower time, + daily life started getting easier with them and even more
enjoyable along the way. I went from wanting to run out of the house crying to having laughing fits, moments of worship, and papa time
on the couch with my girls. It has been incredible to apply what I have learned in School of Ministry + Loving Your Kids On Purpose
class and what Papa Time has brought me to our orphanage houses and our kids.
3) When our teams were in the communities doing ministries, I have prayed for and watched four people’s deaf ears be opened - among
many other person's injuries and sickness be healed! So incredible! God is so good and doing big things within this community.
WHAT’S NEXT? ?Amongst all of what I do on a regular basis, God has put more things on my heart and personal dreams in my mind. A year ago,
I found myself in a small campus surrounded by extremely talented and profoundly creative individuals that had ideas, songs, words, sweet
guitar riffs they wanted to share but didn’t know how to do it. I am currently in the process of teaming up with my fellow classmates/staff to
create an artist’s collective called We Are The Heirs out of our Mexico campus - we are musicians, spoken word artists, songwriters, etc that
want to share the talents that God has given us because we are the heirs of the kingdom, we were made for such a time as this, and we
carry the dreams of heaven inside of us. I’m really excited to see where this goes + how it glorifies our Creator when we are real about him
and get to share who he is to us, using the gifts he has so freely given.
When I finish my three years here in Tijuana, I want to go wherever God leads me. I know that I will be speaking into nations, playing music,
teaching prophecy and healing, and travelling the world while doing whatever he asks of me. Right now, I am dreaming of going with RDSN
to the Romania base. I would really love to be an intern or on staff and I want to go there as soon as possible! I am currently learning
Romanian on Duolingo while gaining my fluidity in Spanish. I just really have this desire in my heart to serve the people of Romania, the
refugees of war-torn countries, and the gypsies! I really cannot wait for all of that but I know that I need to steward the next 1½ years in front
of me first.
WHAT DO YOU NEED RIGHT NOW? ?Financial support and a lot of prayer to finish out this year until I have the opportunity to come back to
Washington in August 2017. More specifically, $1500 in the next two weeks. This money goes towards tuition, living expenses, water/food,
ministries, and everything else it takes to be a missionary. Throughout this year, I would like to build a support system of monthly sponsors
for what I am going to be doing in future ministries in other nations. I have some other lesser needs like new clothes, maybe some giftcards,
and air miles/points to be able to come home. I need prayer for health and for my teeth as I have had a pretty hard year full of painful dental
issues that came out of nowhere. I need prayer for strength and wisdom to stay the course and walk this out in excellence, to steward my
time in school well, and be able to love extravagantly when I feel that I cannot.
THANK YOU ?for supporting me and generously giving towards what I am doing here in Tijuana. The past two years have been beyond anything
I could ever dreamed of and I am in awe of the way God has been using me to impact these kids and this community. I am completely
floored every time I think about the way that people have just given until their hearts explode and I am grateful for this family of believers that
continue to trust people with their finances to go be the light in dark places and be an overwhelming relief of community to me. Thank you
for letting God use you and giving so freely. You are loved and greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas, God bless you + your family, and have
a great beginning to 2017!
