The big difference in Viacyte is that is Macro encapsulation, PMCB is micro encapsulation. Viacyte's device is the size of a business card which houses the cells. It's estimated it may take more than 3 devices per patient. My son is Type 1 and I welcome any cure from any company to help end his suffering. Both treatments are with encapsulation but not the same type
