XStream Beverage Network, Inc. Ships First Order of Chinese Rocket Fuel to Giant Food of Landover, Maryland
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2006--XStream Beverage Network, Inc. (OTCBB:XSBV), an emerging developer, marketer and distributor of innovative and new age beverages, today announced that Chinese Rocket Fuel and Lo-Carb Chinese Rock fuel, a 16 oz. energy drink, has been approved by Giant Food Stores.

The Company said its first shipment of the energy drink, formulated with a blend of Chinese herbs, has been shipped to the Maryland-based grocery chain. Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, Giant Food LLC, operates 202 Giant and Super G supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and the District of Columbia, and employs more than 27,000 associates.

XStream said that the recently announced Lo-Carb Chinese Rocket Fuel will be shipped as soon as it is available. This order was facilitated through XStream's Beverage Network of Maryland.

"Giant is one of the nation's leading supermarket chains," said XStream Beverage Network, Inc. Chairman & CEO Ted Farnsworth. "The acceptance of Chinese Rocket Fuel by such a well respected chain validates the product's feasibility to effectively compete in the burgeoning 16 oz. energy drink category. We are truly overwhelmed with the success of the product to date."

Farnsworth said the recently launched energy drink, which is formulated with such Chinese herbs as Schizandra, Chinese Panax Ginseng, Rhodial Root, Eleuthra and Prickly Ash, has enjoyed early success in each market where it has been introduced.

"Although we were confident that there was opportunity in the 16 oz. category, we were pleasantly surprised at the outstanding response to the product in the initial launch markets," said Farnsworth. "Our level of confidence continues to rise as we introduce the product to new markets with equal success and with leading chains like Giant recognizing the potential for Chinese Rocket Fuel, a proprietary product of XStream Beverage Group."

Initially launched in the Pacific Northwest by Maletis Beverage, http://www.maletis.com and in South Florida by Thies Distribution http://www.thies.com, Chinese Rocket Fuel is experiencing excellent success in New York City through the efforts of distributor New York Energy Drinks.

According to Beverage Digest energy drinks are the fasted growing sector of the $93 billion domestic beverage industry with United States sales up 61 percent this year.

The Company recently announced it will introduce a lo-carb version of Chinese Rocket Fuel. Lo-carb products represent anywhere from 25 to 35 percent of the rapidly increasing 16 oz. energy drink market.

"We expect that other national supermarket chains will take notice that Giant will be handling the product," added Farnsworth. "This product is really taking off!"
