Yeah, what are the temps side by side. I am sure AMD's are about 800 F

For your education a) even the hottest embedded controllers don't run above 450 F. b) the heat produced comes straight from the watts used just like any electric cooker, radiator or bulb and if the temperature was higher with lower watts that would be due to very bad cooling - or a very much smaller process - which they don't have.

As to my feelings on it - yes they almost certainly have fiddled something somewhere, everybody seems to do that including Intel but AMD are particularly prone to it having been on life support so long. So I'll wait for independent performance tests but maybe they do at last have something worth looking at.
