A way to waste your cdl
Driver (Current Employee) – Dallas, TX
I just started. Way too many lies . They force new hires to go work in Fort Worth or Garland after you have been hired in Dallas. The equipment is the worst. The pay is the lowest. The company is not managed right.
The union has been broken. The pension has disappeared. You are forced to become on call with no set schedule or start times aortic set days off. High union dues. It takes 3 years to get to $21. While you will be doing the same job as others. You can't get overtime. You get laid off right after getting hired.
It makes non sense how they run this company. It's crazy once you see how the lay out is from the inside. If you think of going to YRC.DONT DON'T DON'T. All new hires quit. After being hired now I see why. The guys are nice to bait you in. But the reality is they all greedy. The senior guys hog all the overtime, schedule, equipment. The union allows the company to do whatever, so don't count on the union.
You can save the time and effort. Go to another company. You get hired as Driver, but really you will be lucky if you get to drive within 2 years. You basically hired as a dock guy working in the hot trailers, doing the all guys won't do job for 18 a hour @ 40 hours, no overtime that's 500 a week. That's a way to waste your cdl and all the endorsements
Pros None
Cons
Disfunction, malicious intent to screw new hires, high union dues
