"as for the harp and Ireland"

I found it disrespectful (see below using your link) to welcome a businessman (Trump) using a symbol of Ireland.

I'm sure the businessmen of Ireland, dealing with Trump for the golf course, know of Trump's sick mind to want and accept others to greet him as if he is something very special and great, so they played this with the red carpet etc.

With "The eagle is a symbol of the United States" I don't think any foreign visiting businessman to the United States should be greeted with an eagle.

Its really no big deal except it shows the narrow-mindedness of people to put a value onto themselves that far exceeds common sense, and in my judgment the self-importance they want to display to others results in just the opposite reaction as everyday folks look with contempt at them.

As for the dolled-up woman in red dress standing with arms outstretched to greet Trump as "eye candy," its that distasteful display to present young sexy women as mindless objects for men to fantasy on.

In Trump's mind he sees these women as mindless objects presented to him as things to grab and kiss.

Sick.

I do understand that many young women want to enter Hollywood as actresses, and against their better judgment use these regretful tactics as a means to an end.

Since 1922, the government of Ireland has used a similar left-facing harp, based on the Trinity College Harp in the Library of Trinity College Dublin as its state symbol.
It first appeared on the Great Seal of the Irish Free State, which in turn was replaced by the coat of arms, the Irish Presidential Standard and the Presidential Seal in the 1937 Constitution of Ireland.
The harp emblem is used on official state seals and documents including the Irish passport and has appeared on Irish coinage from the Middle Ages to the current Irish imprints of Euro coins.
