You can still use far dated options. I have options on 20% of my
shares. I could still sell shares.

If I sell options at the price and amount that Aim would have me sell shares, the option premium brings me to the next higher or more sell price. So I can sell shares at $7.50 and by selling $7.50 calls, if those shares are called it will be like selling at $8.25. The next Aim directed sale above $7.40 is only $7.77 I think.

Anyway, that is my logic.
