I think it has alot to do with the particular insurance
companies too..by that I mean..

we had a tornado in my area in '93...
most people who had Farm Bureau insurance were getting equitable settlement checks in literally a day or two..

State Farm, Allstate etc...well it took them weeks..
months in some cases..geesh..
