Charting is used to manage risk and to show when there is cheating going with the PPS (price manipulation) as we saw today. Your are correct we need some volume to see what the trend will be. That is why you have to use moving averages, as we see the shorter term moving average is below the longer term moving average. The buy signal for a short term trade will be when the shorter term moving average goes above the longer term moving average (5 day above the 20 day).
