I just watched the segment a couple times on Hulu. Its not bad. The look around the lab and simplified explanation on what is happening behind the science was pretty educational.

There were one statement that i picked up on that I thought was really interesting:

"Companies now make jogging clothes out of spider silk"

I don't know of any company yet that is making jogging clothes out of spider silk. The only spider silk textiles I am aware of are:

- Fashon Designer Sruli Recht made a scarf and shirt out of Randy Lewis's goat silk.

- Bolt Threads is working with Unifi and Patagonia to make clothing, though no prototype has been announced or shown publicly to my knowledge.

- Spiber made the Moon Parka with The North Face Japan and the Lexus Kinetic Car Seat.

- AMSilk made the most recently announced Sneakers with Adidas

- KBLB's "Shoot Packs" with the Army.

I don't know of any jogging clothing made from spider silk and the few that are working with it don't yet have enough for mass production for what they are working on.

Do you think that someone at the lab might have accidentally let it slip that KBLB's silk is being worked into sports apparel?
