XP Audio: blasting off with a powerful new tube technology that Craig Anderton admiringly calls, "an amazing new bag of tricks".
Hmmmm, Magic Trix

Eighteen months ago when industry veterans John Johnson and Rick Bos teamed up to launch XP Audio, the two made a pledge to create a truly different kind of company. Rather than guiding R&D by analyzing retail price points, they would attempt to create products that offered unique and lasting value to musicians. Instead of outsourcing production to a low-cost factory in China, they would manufacture at their own U.S. plant, and they would also try and have some fun in the process. With the opening of a new and expanded 20,000-square-foot plant in Salt Lake City, and a beefed up R&D team; Johnson and Bos' unorthodox business model is getting traction. The company's Motion Sound keyboard amps are shipping in volume and enjoy favorable product reviews, Forge bass amps are in production, and the radical new Bolt line of guitar amps will debut at NAMM. Of equal importance, the two report that the start-up process has been "fun." As Johnson relates, "We have a great team of people pulling together and the results have even surprised me."

Although XP Audio is a new firm, it has an experienced management team. Johnson was a pioneer in the effects and digital signal processing market as the founder and long running CEO of DOD/Digitech and as head of the Harman Music Group, which was the parent of the Lexicon and dbx brands.
