I agree that this won't be done soon...but not because of the US. I've been following the Cuban officials and talks/articles closely. It's very clear that to this point, Cuba has not said they are negotiating on any level. They keep voting and telling the US to remove the embargo, but yet they do nothing to help the situation. Either these results scared them into negotiations (unlikely) or we will see this drag out for a while. I'm hoping if the new president really cares about its people, the US will pay the claims and the. Negotiate on a govt to govt level. Let's get this resolved for the US people. Also, there is NO hope of restitution, so claims should take the payment and move on.

This is the most likely outcome in my mind.
