I agree with you that many of them have issues and I think some of it *is* related to their having gone overboard -- financially or verbally or emotionally on that stock -- and not being able to admit it. Perhaps that is also what you are saying, but from your first sentence it is not perfectly clear.

Can you imagine touting the bejesus out of that stock for years (as some people did), proclaiming that it would lead you to Golconda and having to face the reality?

Some people of course handled the last 6-7 years fairly well. Took their capital losses, admitted that what they expected or were told by management was not true and stopped expecting a pot of gold.

Others don't seem to be able to do that, maybe they really backed up the truck and loaded up or they became a guru of the board and can't come down off the "mountain" emotionally.

I wish sincerely that they find peace with their investment issues.
