Are we maybe stretching this blue dye thing a bit much now? I mean sure... anything is possible and at some point some child might either intentionally or accidentally get their hands on a rexista (or similar) opiod with dye properties.

I might also win the lottery someday

The Chicago Bears might win the Superbowl someday

The sun might supernova someday

The "Big One" might hit Southern California tomorrow

We might be alone in the universe...

You get where I'm going with this-

It does little to 0 good to speculate on something that is a statistical absurdity and rather rationally weigh things upon their merits of logical and practical chance, risk vs. reward, etc.

Kids also are attracted to firetrucks, guns, airplanes, bodies of water, and wall sockets- all legal and accepted things (well most at least). The thing here is it comes down to parental responsibility. If we start thinking along the lines unspokenly suggested in your post we might as well just start living in inflatable bubbles with 0 ambition.

The fact of the matter is 99% of the people who realize Rexista et al., contain a stigmatizing blue dye are adults- many of whom have less than honorable intentions with the drug. Those lives can be actually saved or at least encouraged to look to other places to get their high = the definition of deterrence.

Your results may vary...
