Canada doesn't have a Pacer equivalent. You can order legal documents from the B.C. Supreme Court, but they're pricey. If I still have Mike Caswell's email address, I'll write to him asking if he'll do some followup articles on the action in the case.
But Canadian civil suits are in some ways different from ours. It seems that usually the plaintiff files a complaint, and then the defendant responds. But the judge doesn't set a discovery schedule and see to it that things keep moving along. It's apparently up to the attorneys for both sides to get together and try to sort things out. In the one B.C. case I followed years ago, once the responses from the defendants were filed, nothing much ever happened again.
