I don't think they deviate from the end results, just time delay it in some fashion.

Guess in the comics Abraham was supposed to be the recipient of the arrow that killed Denise. I didn't know that.

They kept him a few months longer but killed him in the end anyway. Just in a more dramatic/surprise way. I was banking on Daryl. LOL

Carl (Karl?) was supposed to get his arm cut off in that episode of the comics. They mentioned they were delaying that as well but it will eventually happen.

Directors prerogative?

Maybe I should read the comics? I'm just not a comic person. I prefer a book. :)
