the role PLUG plays with Nikola could be two fold but there is no evidence of this.

a) they could be being used to help build the hydrogen infrastructure at the production plants and at the filling stations. PLUG has more experience in this than anyone, has two tankers itself on the road all day every day and has more filling station/pumps than anyone. They have taken the old traditional piping valves monitors etc and reengineered everything reducing installation times making parts in a modular approach using factory conditions not on onsite custom work.

b)companies like Walmart can buy Nikola trucks and not use their yet to be installed stations. they can refuel at the PLUG Distribution center where there is already liquid hydrogen stored.
This gives Nikola an early customer not dependant on the Hydrogen network or even the solar manufacturing plants they talk about.

PLUG are NOT working with them on the fuel cells for the trucks - that is almost certainly Ballard
